# Limit orders

> Open a position when the price reaches a trigger.

```ts theme={null}
const order = await zeus.orders.limitOpen({
  market: 'ETH/USD',
  side: 'long',
  collateral: 100,
  payToken: 'USDC',
  leverage: 3,
  triggerPrice: 2300
})
console.log(order.orderIndex)
```

A Long limit opens when the price falls to the trigger, a Short limit when it rises to it. The call returns when the order is placed, with an `OrderReceipt`. The fill arrives later on the [fills stream](https://sdk.zeustrade.io/data/streams.md) and in `account.orders()`.

When `payToken` differs from the collateral, the swap happens when the order is placed, limited by `slippage` (0.5 percent by default).

## Move or cancel

```ts theme={null}
await zeus.orders.update({ kind: 'increase', orderIndex: order.orderIndex, triggerPrice: 2280 })
await zeus.orders.cancel({ kind: 'increase', orderIndex: order.orderIndex })
```

Limit opens are `increase` orders. Fields left out of `update` keep their value.
