# Configuration

> Client options, networks, signers and the builder code.

```ts theme={null}
const zeus = new Zeus({
  network: 'base',
  rpcUrl: 'https://mainnet.base.org',
  privateKey: '0x…',
  apiKey: 'mm-key',
  builderCode: true,
  streams: { backoffMs: [500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000] }
})
```

**network** `'base' | 'base-sepolia'` *required*

Selects the contract addresses, the ZEUS API and the chain. `base-sepolia` is the ZEUS test network.

**rpcUrl** `string` *required*

Any Base RPC. Public RPCs work; the SDK reads logs in ranges of at most 200 blocks, which public Base RPCs require.

**privateKey | account | walletClient** `Hex | Account | WalletClient`

The signer. Pass one of them, or none for a read-only client. Keys stay in your process.

**apiKey** `string`

A market-maker key. It unlocks `pool.*`, the gateway streams and 1,200 requests per minute instead of 300.

**builderCode** `boolean` (default: true)

Appends the ZEUS Base builder code (ERC-8021) to every transaction.

**fetch** `typeof fetch`

Replaces the global `fetch` for REST calls, for example to add a proxy.

**streams** `StreamOptions`

`webSocket` for runtimes without a global WebSocket (pass `ws` on Node 20), `backoffMs` for reconnect delays, `pollMs` for the RPC fallbacks.

## Networks

| `network` | Chain | API |
| - | - | - |
| `base` | Base, 8453 | `https://api.zeustrade.io` |
| `base-sepolia` | Base Sepolia, 84532 | `https://api.test.zeustrade.io` |

Contract addresses ship with the SDK in `NETWORKS`. Markets come from the ZEUS API and their token details from the Vault, so a newly listed market works without an update.
